Results From Oklahoma

would be on the list. So would Wyoming, which I think is close.
I have a cousin who lives in Oklahoma, at some place called
Hooker, which is out in the desert, from what I hear. He’s a city
boy who went country years ago, much to the consternation
of his family and friends, who didn’t fancy themselves traipsing
all the way to Oklahoma.
My cousin had a nickname growing up, which was Bubba. The
police gave it to him, Bubba being short for Beelzebub, one of
the names given to the devil, or one of his compadres. Bubba
was hell on wheels, between the ages of 15 and 26. He spent
a number of days in the can, but always managed to do well
at trial, where he got off the hook, way more often than not. The
police finally decided to leave him alone, which is all I think he
ever wanted in the first place.
At 25, Bubba picked up and moved to Chicago, where he got
a job with a meat company. He started on the cleaning crew
and he’d hose down the killing floor at night. Every few months,
he got promoted and at 27, the company put him in the sales
department. In his first year, he outsold all the other salesman
in the company combined. The next year, the company made him
Vice President of Sales. In the next few years, the company grew
by leaps and bounds. They needed to undertake a major expansion
and Oklahoma was where they decided to do it.
Bubba went out and surveyed the area and came back a cowboy,
complete with the hat, boots and belt. The company moved, built
their plant and prospered. Bubba now runs the entire operation
and flies all over the country, making deals.
Along the way, he acquired a cowgirl, and 4 li’l cowpokes. He also
put on a little weight. Last year, he checked in around 310 pounds.
His doctor told him that he had to give some things up, like
whiskey, beer and eating all the time. He tried a few diets, but
they didn’t work. He asked me for a simple way to make the weight
come off.
I told him to go out and buy some measuring cups. Then I told him
that he got two cups of food for breakfast, one for lunch and three for
dinner. At dinner, two of the three cups have to be vegetables. At
breakfast, one of the cups has to be fruit. He can snack twice a day,
a half cup of fruits, or vegetables.
Bubba has done pretty well. Yesterday he hit the scale at 265, which
is a loss of 45 pounds. He bought a bike and he’s riding it on some trails
near his home. He bought a XX shirt and it fit. He’s been special
ordering shirts for years. He thinks that he wants to get down to 210,
which is what he weighed at the time he up and left for Chicago. I’m
pretty sure he’s going to make it. His wife promised him that if he makes
210, he can buy some very expensive cowboy boots that he’s been
talking about for years. These would be more expensive than the already
expensive collection that he already has.
One thing to keep in mind is that your body can recover from almost
anything. After years of drinking and eating long into the night, it can
respond to a healthier approach very quickly. And the sooner you get
it turned in the right direction, the better off you’ll be.
Find out how you can drop the lard, just like my cousin Bubba, and get
back in good shape.
