Obama’s Favorite BS Artist
Posted: February 21st, 2012 | Author: Dr. Bill Stillwell | No Comments »If you listen to the drivel foisted upon us by the
mainstream media, you would think that Warren
Buffett is just like your sainted grandfather and that
every word that comes out of his mouth is a nugget
to be saved and used, over and over in conversation,
to prove what a genius ol’ pappy is.
Buffett plays the part very well and he’s managed to
convince the economically challenged Obama that
his advice should be followed, whenever possible.
After all…hasn’t he made everyone who has bought
his stock rich? (One share of Berkshire-Hathaway is
worth $119,190.00, at the moment)
Which means that only the very, very wealthy can
buy in, today. And there is no shortage of buyers, so
Buffett will go on making billions, as long as he wants
to. And as far as I’m concerned, there isn’t anything
wrong with that…
As long as you know that Warren Buffett is one of the
greatest bullshit artists to ever walk down the boulevard.
Why do I say this?
Because lately…Buffett has been using taxpayer money
to enrich his company and himself, by extension. The
same Warren Buffett that says its time for the government
to stop "coddling" the "super rich" is relying on government
largesse and "coddling," with taxpayer money (that is, your
money).
Here’s a little financial history.
During the 2008 campaign, Obama made it clear that
Buffett was his "go to" financial advisor. When the shit
hit the fan in September 2008, Buffett invested $5 billion
in Goldman Sachs, which was in danger of collapsing. He
got a sweetheart deal for Berkshire-Hathaway, in return.
To outsiders, it looked like Buffett was jumping in to save
the market, and that’s what he let them think.
But there is no such thing as charity, where only honey
badgers hang out. Buffett’s house was on fire, too.
Berkshire-Hathaway was heavily invested in Wells Fargo
and U.S. Bancorp. Both of them were sitting on the edge
of a financial cliff.
So what did Buffett do? He and his friend Obama began
campaigning for the TARP bailout. The first time the bill
came up, it was defeated. You may remember that McCain
and Obama flew in to Washington to vote… for the bailout.
Buffett had managed to convince both that the bailout was
essential for the survival of the country.
It was also necessary for Buffett’s survival. He was as
highly leveraged as the companies he criticized. Had the
bailout not been passed, nobody would be talking about
what a genius Warren Buffett was, or is (take your pick).
He was just as greedy as the "fat cats" everyone was railing
about.
On the eve of the second vote, Buffet bought a huge stake
in GE, which was in worse shape than Goldman Sachs. He
announced that he was "confident Congress would do the
right thing." They did and Buffett made billions, by having
the government pay off the debts of the companies he
invested in… and for which he got paid a premium.
He admitted that he wouldn’t have done anything, if he didn’t
think the government wasn’t going to act (with our money).
And Obama’s help. No wonder Buffett is willing to campaign
for Obama. Nobody ever made him more money than Barack
and with absolutely no risk.
Buffett continues to talk out of both sides of his mouth, today.
While deriding his competitors, he is continuing to invest in
areas where Obama is targeting federal money. His plea to
tax the super rich really means "tax my competitors." He
wants everyone, except him and his company, to pay more
taxes. What he really wants is more government subsidized,
no risk opportunities. And Obama is ready, and willing, to
give ol’ Grandpa G Money what he wants.
Buffett likes to say, "You don’t know who’s swimming naked…
until the tide goes out," whatever that means. It sure is folksy
though, ain’t it?
To me…the only difference between him and Bernie Madoff…
is that he has the government on his side, while he steals
from you. I think we should start calling him Uncle Fleeceter.
Or Grandpa Flimflam. Or maybe a Chinese nickname would be
appropriate: One Luckee Sum Bitch.
